Who has your back?

Today was our 7th wedding anniversary. WOW. It seems just like yesterday, and it seems we've been together forever. All at the same time. We've been through a whole tribulation together. HA!

My husband is kind, generous, loving, and patient. I'm a stay at home wife/mom. I'm also not in the best health. I have a lot of problems. I've broken my back, I have fibromyalgia, I have COPD and asthma. I don't always feel well. But my husband absolutely NEVER complains about anything I haven't gotten done. He'll jump right in and finish things I can't. Or he'll just tell me it's no big deal and that it was important that I rest. That's the type of person he is. I've never met anyone as patient as he is, and I am so blessed to have him as my partner in life. He definitely has my back.

Who has your back? We all need others. We want to say we don't need anyone...but don't we? In the Bible it says "not forsaking the assembling together of ourselves as is the custom with some, but encouragine one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." That alone tells us that we are supposed to be supporting and loving one another. That we're supposed to fellowship regularly in support of one another. At church, I play the piano. So, I don't always get time to go around and greet everyone. Instead of being able to fellowship, I play the fellowship song. But, I do try to get around to people after church and introduce myself to visitors, or catch up with other members. It's important to me what they're going through or how they're feeling. I love my church family. I can truly be myself, and talk about the real things I deal with. I don't have to sugar coat anything. I wouldn't know how to do that if I tried! They've kind of gotten used to me by now.

My point being, everyone needs someone. We need to pray for one another. We need to let each other know that we support them and love them. My husband is my rock, my guide, and my strength. But, he needs that spiritual connection through church, too! We recharge every week on Sundays and Wednesdays. It's importants to us that we attend, and that my family attends. My preacher has always had our backs. He has helped us in so many ways. We needed a washer at one point, and we all know the manager at the local Lowe's here. (He is now a member of our church) But my preacher talked to him about getting us a scratch and dent washer. We got a crazy nice washer for $100 bucks! Our stove went out, we got a crazy nice stove for $125 bucks! It was such a blessing to us because I cook every single day. I do laundry every single day. We needed those things. It wasn't a want, but truly a need. God provided for us, and used our preacher as a way for us to receive our blessings.

Even if you have no one in your life. I mean, absolutely no one. You're a hermit, you work from home, you don't go out, you don't talk to anyone, you have no family, no friends. You sit in your home all day long and speak to no one. Guess what? You can still have someone. You can still have God in your life. He is all you really need. Everything else is just a bonus. But, I'm telling you now. If you don't have God, then you have nothing. He is the one that gets us through the tough times. He gives us the strength to make it through the trials and tribulations this life throws at us. If you don't have Christ as your savior, I am telling you, you need to change that today. You need to get down on your knees and get saved TODAY. John 3:16 says "That God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever shall believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." That's pretty cut and dried right there.

If you need to be saved, all you have to do is admit you're a sinner. Confess your sins to God. Ask God to be Lord of your life. Believe that Jesus died on the cross to save your sins and accept that salvation. It's that simple. Then, after you repent of your sins, you have to actually turn away from those sins. You can't keep doing what you're doing. Everyone is going to struggle with things of this world, but as a Christian, you have to fight against those trials and temptations. It's simple...but not easy. You're going to struggle everyday. You're going to sin everyday. Don't give up. Get a Bible and start reading God's word. He will help you.

So, again, I ask....Who has your back? If you're a Christian, God does.

Until next time,

Tracy
